Rainey Estate Agents was established in 1958 by the late Dermot Rainey Snr who originally operated the auctioneering business in conjunction with long established furniture and hardware business. In 1980 the firm decided to concentrate exclusively on the estate agency business opening modern dedicated offices at Port Road, Letterkenny.
As a result of the continued and ongoing expansion of the business the firm has moved to larger premises on two occasions and is now firmly settled into a hi-profile corner premises at Canal House, Lower Main Street, Letterkenny which provides a comfortable business environment for both employees and customers alike.
In 1999 the firm recognised the importance of having a link with a national brand name and became a franchisee of Sherry FitzGerald, now Ireland's largest firm of Estate Agents with 100 offices countrwide including 12 branch offices in Dublin City.

Dermot Rainey, Managing Director, Sherry FitzGerald Rainey has been involved in the family estate agency business since 1974. He has widespread experience in all sectors of the property business including residential sales, commercial sales & lettings, commercial management and property valuations. Having lived in Letterkenny since 1951 Dermot has a wealth of experience and is well placed to advise on all property related matters throughout the county. Dermot is a Fellow Member of the Irish Auctioneers & Valuers Institute (FIAVI)
Mary Rainey, Director, Sherry FitzGerald Rainey is also a Fellow Member of the Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute (FIAVI) and specialises mainly in residential sales in which, after graduating she gained valuable experience in the residential department of one of Dublin's leading firms of Estate Agents. Mary has built up a very large contact base through the many customers she has had the privilege of dealing with over the past 25 years and enjoys a high level of repeat business.
Dean Spencer, Senior Negotiator joined the team in 2004. Dean is a Member of Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers (MIPAV) and works primarily on residential sales and valuations within the company.
